As best as I can tell, when it comes to hard/plate armor breastplates, the only really impractical feature of that armor is the, admittedly minimal, inwards sternum divot, since that could direct force and blows inwards into the wearer’s chest.
However, that’s something most male Mandalorian’s also have with their pec armor. It’s also something with historical president (see spartan six-pack ab armor). And that’s not even touching the possibilities of SciFi tech material properties.
So it’s pretty much completely a moot point.
