>>10924934Got my OG RD M9 Gernsbacks and man still cleaning them up hahaha!
Like I was hoping nothing functionally wrong, but holy crap the cigarettes' smell was just horrific on them; and the original owner must've been a prolific smokestack as these are one of the few of my 'cleaner-uppers' that had tar staining throughout. For some reason partially dissembled, with most parts mixed in a single ziplock(done by original owner) and some back in the weirdly almost pristine boxes; with parts in the wrong boxes as well.
Almost a week of regular rinses in heated up dish soap baths, and the smell is gone enough. Putting them back together, and reapplying some white to the mouth plates that thankfully flaked or dissolved off during the clean. Was too yellowed to leave as is, and was a bit scared of trying to paint over that.
>>10924960Ah it's alright, already use Mandarake or Jungle the odd time. Just a joke at my sticker shock seeing one of these at Gamestop(especially a Canadian one), regretful impulse purchase only because of a convenient gift card; biased maybe as I've never liked the Nimbus character because of playthroughs on the Encounters in Space PS2 game. Still went back for Blue Destiny 1, that's been a more fun toy; just painted the interior side of the green visor as I wasn't liking the HARDAC eyes after a while.
>>10934398Rarely, and with little to no heads up when they dropped. For the OG RDs I only ever saw four happen, but I think it was for ones that released damn near right at the beginning of the line; and I think it was timed to media releases. Stark Jegan did get one once maybe half a year before before the Kshatriya released. Think there was grumbling about it, as the price had creeped up for that, nothing like we see nowadays; but was a dated figure to the upcoming Kshatriya that didn't merit creep.
