>>11546673You posted what I was thinking. Toy aisles have changed a lot. They're not as full as they used to be, and in comparison to 20 years ago they're even sloppy-looking. And that blame falls onto Star Wars. Retailers took a massive loss with the merch from the Disney SW movies. Some stores still have some of that shit floating around. So now they just don't order the volumes of toys that they used to in order to minimize losses. And that effects the retail prices. There is such a thing called economies of scale, and in this case it means that the more a retailer bulk-buys, the cheaper the per-unit price is per item, so the lower they can sell it for. Retailers buying less means that we pay more, and is a part of the whole chain from production to retail that's driving up prices.
