It feels amazing to sort thing. From full storage box of lego, I've now sorted almost every piece by category. As i acquire more little containers, i sort them more specifically. I've made amazing progress on my minifigure sorting. The main issue in sorting them back to original is that it can be hard to know what exact combo is right, since many torsos and heads are used in 7 or 8 or more different figures. So I browse all the sets that use a torso or head, then try to remember which ones my family certainly didn't own, by noting other parts I don't have.
Just now I was hit with an amazing combo as I remembered my solid black torso and the red hair that must have had set 6314. Then remembered i sorted exactly 2 wine glasses and have exactly 2 black dressy hair pieces. feels good.
