We've had news in the past of lead paint being put on toys made in China, and that's with legitimate products made for big US toy companies. Who trusts anything about illegal, illegitimate products that get made over there?
Off topic, but I have minor breakdowns whenever I see beauty bloggers put knock off lipsticks from Taobao on their lips. You will literally be eating a small amount of that lipstick, and who knows what's in it?
