Jesus christ guys, I'm not sure if you have yet noticed this but, even if Star Wars toy sales are generally in decline, it is still by and large the single most profitable theme in Lego's catalogue. We've just had a Millenium Falcon set for around 800 fucking dollars, by far the largest and most expensive thing TLG has ever released, and yet, it was still mass produced like any other set and it's still consistently being sold out on retail and in their website as if most people can just casually spend that much money on a box filled with grey blocks.
It's not that it would be impossible for Lego to survive if they didn't renew the license but there's absolutely no reason for them to suddenly give up what's been their greatest cash cow throughout the last decade or so. If you think Star Wars klocki is going away anytime soon then you're just setting up yourself for disappointment.
