>>7159802I always thought the sais were kind of an interesting choice for Raphael. He's portrayed as this violent, aggressive hothead, but at least to my knowledge, a lot of sai techniques are more defensive/preventative, like deflecting and locking enemy weapons, or defending the forearms with the main prong while holding them upside down. Contrary to how sais are depicted in many comics and movies, stabbing does not seem to be very common.
Also, this is not the first time Raph has used tonfa, Mirage Raph used them before he switched to sais.
