For the anon last thread talking about an MP Armada Prime, I'd actually been trying to figure out a way for that trailer to transform into articulated legs while still being show accurate and retaining a base mode [as shite as it may be]. I don't have the sketchbook to hand that I had better ideas in so here's a rough mspaint drawing planning out the basics of the transformation.
Basically the bulk of the leg comes from the base of the trailer which would be hidden by the tank treads and side panels, the knee pads/front of the legs however would still be at the top of the trailer, hinge round in the middle, slide into rails on the main legs and again hinge round on a swing bar that disconnects from the waist section after it's connected to the legs. Borderline parts-forming here but not quite, it gets the job done anyway.
The feet are stored inside the shins, the tank treads fold around to the back of the leg and the large base mode landing strip would likely fold somewhere though I haven't given much thought to that yet.
I had an idea down for how to deal with the massive side skirts from the side of the trailer but like I said I don't have the sketchbook to hand and I can't quite remember how that worked so I'll not bother going into that now.
I'll try and look out my sketchbook and scan the better designs I'd come up with if anyone's interested, I'm not entirely sure how stable this would be but I reckon it's one of the only ways to get it to transform like in the show in toy form.
