And since backstories have been rewritten multiple times, and mumtoke different universes, not everyone into GI Joe would know about what a version of a character used to use as a weapon attachment.
And, for some reason, gun nuts seem to think that everyone also spends hours looking up guns on Wikipedia. Like, they don’t understand the connect that, just because some fictional media involves guns, that doesn’t mean that people will look up every single somewhat nonfictional weapon that appeared in every scene/panel in said media. Gun nuts are kind of like Star Wars fans who are maybe a little bit too into it, or people who unironically mention and use memes in actual conversation, like saying “lol” while speaking yo a colleague at work.
