You don't have to build the entire kit in one sitting, but even considering that after a point you just want to be done, especially the first few times. Pic related is a great kit but I was still ready to take an x-acto to my wrists by the time I was done with her weapons and she's not even the worst. Repetitive parts like tank treads and tentacle arms are also ass.

Outside of the wrists, maybe. If in doubt, just test the joint as you're inserting the peg and pull it out of it feels too tight. Any kind of sandpaper will do, something like 600 grit will be about right.
