Pretty sure I viewed Aquazone the same way back then, though I didn't really think too much on it. In my current universe the Aquasharks were mostly driven out of their homeworld's waters due to aggressive stripmining by the Aquanauts, Aquaraiders and Hydronauts (each being successively more ruthless iterations of the same organization). Now they're semi-nomatic, with scattered hidden bases and colonies across the sector, sending out large raiding cruisers to hit back against those industrial bullies and gather precious resources to ensure their survival.
