>>8845041yeah, I thought about becoming a pilot for a while. one path is to join the Air Force (or Army/Navy I guess) as an officer and apply to be a pilot. the issue is ultimately it's the service's choice, so you can end up being screwed and just end up serving 4 years as an officer, with still-shit job prospects post-service. but if you manage to get in as a pilot, you serve for 10 or 12 years and then get basically whatever offer you choose from a whole host of commercial airlines.
ultimately I just decided on being a teacher because I don't deal with stress that well.
