Maybe their eyesight is extremely poor so when they're pursuing insects with their Twizzler (tm) they end up barging right through your home without noticing. Since they're not hostile the majority of Twizz-Moles consumed as food died falling from great heights as they accidentally burrowed out of the side of trees during a chase. They have one braincell and they use it to eat bug.
