Companies like Hiya and JoyToy, and even more, have been going around buying up a ton of licenses.
What's likely that happened is one of these Chinese companies came to Bandai asking to make 1:18 figures, but since Japan is incredibly racist and nationalistic, they said no, and asked around to Japanese companies to see who would want to make them.
Megahouse accepted the license and is producing theses, and an incredibly expensive mark up. Most 1:18 lines hover between $20-30, so it's likely that Megahouse has very low expectations and priced them as high as other Japanese lines that are ~$40-50 for ~1:12 scale
I don't have much confidence in Megahouse in producing anything that matches Hiya's stuff, because their other micro-sets are of equal quality to Galoob Micro Machine stuff but at 4x the price.
