>>9503056>>9503385Ettore Bugatti was born in Italy and in 1909 he got to start his own buisness in the then german Alsace. after WW1 the region became part of France (again) and that's why Bugatti is considered a french manufacturer.
Actually though the EB 110 is fully italian, as the buisnessman Romano Artioli bought the brand Bugatti in 1987 and built a whole new plant near Modena, where the car was conceived and assembled. VAG only came in in 1998 (after the company had gone bankrupt in 1995) and reestablished the brand back in Alsace.
