Like, at a glance, I think the characters seem charming, and it seems like a very camp show but I think the more cartoony and expressive art/animation is appealing. Like yeah totally I can imagine kids at the time thinking it was both juvenile and old-fashioned, but divorced from that context, maybe it has some redeeming qualities? I dunno.
I will say though that while I haven't seen it, I did recently read the few GoBots stories by FunPub, plus the IDW miniseries, and I totally love both (especially the former).
