A set of replacement legs for the limb Lions without the spring loaded gimmick would go a long way, adding more poseability in Lion mode, and removing the frustration of the legs popping out in Voltron mode. Also designing them to fold up properly would fix the most glaring aesthetic issue of the combined Voltron. Black Lion's main issue is the knee ratchets are either too far forward or too far back for Voltron to stand up straight. Also the knees have almost no backwards range. A replacement pair of thigh/knees could easily fix this. That's really it, fix those two issues and you have a considerably better toy.
