Serious question: Is the G.I. Joe brand team made up of morons who can't find themselves in a mirror, or did Covid really just make 2020 a bad year for a line launch? I feel like, honestly it might be more so Covid, but I feel the Joe team may not be the brightest still. For example, since many international outlets seem to be getting Cobra Island stuff around October. its possible this was meant for a movie push in stores, to have a strong retail presence to help promote the brand with the movie. But the movie stuff is very clearly delayed. At least on the bright side, this may mean more Cobra Island stuff will be available then, if it just sorta got dumped into stores now. This also seems to be the case for some of the delays, obviously everything is getting delayed this year.
That being said, the brand team doesn't really seem to intelligent at the same time. Partnering with NTWRK had nothing to do with Covid, and anyone from miles away should have known that was a disaster. In addition, their inability to really rectify anything with Cobra Island, or provide some assurance, has been rather concerning. As if they think they resolved it and dusted their hands by saying "guess stuff sells quick"
