So I'm realizing something that's been floating in the back of my mind for a while now. That being the reason why I'm not as enthused by system sets as I used to be when I was a kid. I thought it was due to age, but in recently buying some childhood sets it dawned on me that I miss how clunky LEGO used to be.
What I mean by this is that back in the day, stuff like Town and Aquazone and shit used to consist of really blocky, sharp designs without smooth domes and slopes. Almost everything was rigid and flat with sharp angles and idk why but I love it. It's just the polyhedral nature of older sets that rubs me the right way. Anyone else like this aspect or no?
And don't get me wrong, I still enjoy modern designs, but the more primitive way it was handled years ago just seems neat to me in a novel sense.
