>>8428358I fully agree. Jesse has always had stories. Like the dude isn't the best artist I've ever seen by any means, but he bangs out drawings and comics like there's no tomorrow. Even little whatever repaints and releases often get a little bit written about them. It's refreshing to see a creator with a real dedication to that in Glyos, and it's part of why I like Jesse's toys so much. I also respect that Jesse is willing to go wildly against the grain--while everyone else is going for the low-hanging fruit of homages like GI Joe, Transformers, MOTU, etc. Jesse is over here referencing a flash-in-the-pan gimmick aquatic Doc Ock figure that came out in 1997. The sheer balls of that move is stunning.
I am also like you btw, I thought KOTS was dumb as fuck when it first came out, but the sculpts and colorways just kept getting more and more enticing and now I have a lot of them.
