>>7392477I'm not that anon, but I'm the anon who worked at toys r us, and Bain Capital had very little to do with the situation and was ultimately just a part of the equation that tards prefer to assign blame rather than Hollywood for ruining the toy industry with movie tie-in figures for bad movies. The toy industry has largely also been monopolized by the big two companies, Hasbro and Mattel, and companies like Disney have ruined the industry. Toys R Us was only seeling roughly 35% of the merchandise in it's store. Why was that? That had nothing to do with Bain Capital I'll tell ya that. You also see people from websites like Forbes pretend to know why, claiming that maybe kids just don't like toys anymore, which is also bullshit. Kids just don't like what's being forced on the pegs. Back in the 80's and 90's cartoons acted as like giant toy commercials, but where are the toy tie-in cartoons now? Gone, and rarely played if ever, because corporations like Cartoon Network prefer not to play action cartoons, claiming they get low ratings because they never play them at good times or never allow them to develop an audience. As their replacement you get movie-tie ins, and they've ended up being shit as of late, with flops like current Star Wars and Ghostbusters 2016, or the recent Justice League movie.
Back in the day you had cartoon tie-ins like:
GI Joe
Transformers
Masters of the Universe
Thundercats
Centurions
Mask
Visionaries
Mighty Max
Bucky O'Hare
TMNT
Voltron
Silver Hawks
InHumanoids
Bravestar
Real Ghostbusters
Street Sharks
Biker Mice From Mars
EXO Squad
Mummies Alive
Dinosaucers
King Arthur and the Knights of Justice
