>>10568608>considering most people don’t know who Dick Tracy is nowadays.life is such a cruel bitch. you know popeye and tracy are going to enter the PD within the coming decade (popeye is entering it next year infact) but I cant help but feel as though this will be a death nail for both characters. people have countless bones to pick with disney so they'll parade and deface steamboat willie mickey until the cows come home just to stick it to them. but popeye and tracy have waned in popularity for decades now through a combination of neglect and poor adaptions. Popeye never got back on his feet after fleischer/famous studios went under. And Tracy likewise rarely found much success in media adaptions outside of the 90s film.
