>>11096113>>11096144Warcraft was pretty early on into their journey to greatness, they were still figuring things out at that time. They improved by leaps and bounds after that, if you've never experienced late-era Mega, all I can say is you missed the fuck out. They failed for a variety of reasons, none of which were that the toys were bad. Distribution was fucked for the majority of the line, it would just vanish from the shelves for months in some areas. Some of their biggest licenses just weren't popular in the toy aisle, like Destiny. The FPS gamer and block enthusiast markets just did not line up at all. Mega also had a lingering poor brand image from the 80s and 90s, which they struggled to shake even though their plastic quality and molding had improved exponentially. The fact is they were making incredible toys, and presenting them to a market that were largely oblivious, not able to see or get ahold of them, or were Lego diehards that refused to even give them a chance.
Lego is too big to fail, but they have been boring as hell for a while now. No new innovations to keep the brand interesting, whereas Mega has constantly updated their minifigure engineering and brought new innovations and ideas to the table.
