Melted sprue is too viscous for the air to escape before it solidifies and if you add so much cement that it is not viscous, the cement will take forever to evaporate AND what's left will only fill like 30% of your mold because most of the stuff you added to the mix will evaporate.

That's it. For everything else you use actual casting materials designed for casting.
You can add steel pegs to the resin part or you can just use CA cement to attach the resin to the plastic or you can make resin pegs and they will work to some extent (pic related).
