I don't have much Pirate stuff, but it was my favorite Lego theme as a kid. I got back into building a few years back after bonding with nephews helping build a Lego Millennium Falcon with them on a Christmas morning.
I actually built that Sharktooth Tower as part of a contest on a Lego site for a Pirate MOC, but everyone there built stuff super fancy and using some computer program, so I don't think I'm gonna win. I just used the parts I had on hand. But I'm super happy with it and it's lots of fun to play with. It's super cool knowing someone liked it enough to save a picture.
It might sound super nerdy, but I actually came up with names and write short backstories for all my Pirate characters. It's something fun to think about whike doing mindless tasks at work or when on a lunch break and I forget a book. Playing with Lego the past few years has helped me tap into that creativity I used to have as a child, and I think actually PLAYING has a big part to do with that.
The play aspect is also why I love and appreciate these MOC threads over the 'official' ones, it has nothing to do with all the weird politics I keep seeing some weirdo pushing into everything.
