The smart Youtubers use Youtube as a side gig for extra coin while building their own reputation to get into other openings within their hobby. Be it video game Youtubers going on to develop games, animation guys getting pro gigs or toy Youtubers getting jobs with Hasbro or Mattel in some shape or form.
And then you got Optibotimus, Seanlong, Baltmatrix, AnthonyCustoms and many others that thought they could do this forever and during that decade long stint also didn't grow as people and didn't network or anything.
In a way, they deserve to be buried by the real world.
