I picked up some orange crush on my way home from work today, with the resolve that I'll get him no matter what even if I think he looks like garbage.
And yeah, blistering cold department store fluorescent lighting don't do him justice at all. I have pretty cold lighting in my manchild cave but even here he looks a lot better. The red paint is much more distinct and visible on the orange plastic, and it's a deeper, less bright orange than you might expect going off of the more terrible photos you see of him.
Unfortunately mine came with some fairly significant QC issues. The left robot body thigh was pretty lose, and the headmaster's thigh articulation is so loose that it flops around if you so much as look at it (seriously it'll take like 20 coats of floor polish to get that tight, it's a wonder if even stayed on).
The worst of it though was his left shoulder. The two halves of the torso and the two halves of that left shoulder pad were both slightly misaligned and as a result basically interlocked into each other at the swivel and couldn't move. I had to take apart the torso and shave a bit of plastic off it and cut the shoulder in half (it's held together with glued pegs, kind of) so that I could realign them properly.
Great looking mold either way though, it's a shame I got the shit end of the QC stick this time around.
