Brown isn't my favourite colour or anything but it's a good fit on a 6 colour team, yellow/orange is too close to red. It also didn't help that they couldn't make up their fucking mind and basically gave stone an identity crisis ever since they dropped the brown set colours. When I was little I didn't really know the lore that much and when the toa inika came out I just thought that there were two black bionicles now.
Also the original brown looked way better than the shitty beige colour they switched to, maybe that was the bigger problem.
