1.)It allows Bandai to charge more than these should cost.
2.)Plebs want it because the metal makes it "adult" and somehow justifies their manchild hobby to themselves/others
After the Dragonzord debacle metal should have been ditched, but Titanus still had it, and in the worst possible areas (the parts that attatch to Mega Dragonzord, making it even MORE top heavy and unstable), Tigerzord still had it (admittedly the least intrusive use of it, but the added weight will likely lead to loose arms in years to come), Thunder Megazord has it (mostly in the Lion, meaning they learned nothing from the problems Dragonzord's top heavyness caused), and the Falconzord will have it, which is a terrible idea since it needs to be a backpack.
