How about the world is an arena where the Kaijus have to destroy more than the competitor. Thing about a Quidditch meets Pokemon meets Monster Rampage.
The incentive would be to create your own micro city buildings you can destroy (maybe even use the architecture line as special buildings) or pimp your monsters.
If you want to go full crossmedia, make a Lego arena game where you can fight with your monsters. So the creator sets would become the statues for the fans.
