Here's my list, although in all honesty, getting to 10 truly impressive toys was hard. I feel like a lot of great figures came out this year, but none were really game changers. So this is more a personal list than the truly top 10 figures as far as quality alone
1) Jiang Xing Winged Dragon- this tops my list because a dragon transformer was my most desired toy as a kid; when TM 2 Megatron came out it blew my little mind. But I never did get him. Last year Perfect effect's was one of my Top 10, this figure isn't as good in a lot of ways but the dragon mode tops theirs. Its an impressive centerpiece from a visual standpoint.
2) Mafex Spider-man: At the moment, my perfect Spider-man figure. It could be improved upon, but it feels like such a leap forward compared to everything we've gotten since the toy Biz days.
3) MP Blackarachnia:For as much as it fails as a Transformer, its still damned impressive to me
4) Comicave Mk VII Iron Man(Avengers 1 armor):The term "mini Hot toys" is tossed around a lot, but Comiccave does a great job of scaling down HT Iron Man engineering. Which is to say, you trade in that Figuarts engineering for detail and paint, while still getting decent articulation. Its a lateral direction from the Figuarts option, but I found this one particularly impressive.
5)Neca Spyro: I just always wanted a Spyro. Not NECA’s best of the year, but again, nostalgia wins.
6) Dasin Kenshin Himura-not a groundbreaking figure in engineering, but incredibly commendable for just how much you get for so little. In a time where 1/12 cloth figures are breaking the $100 mark, its very cool to me to get a figure with a decent amount of accessories and a stand for little over $40. Yes, its not paying for a license, but it puts things into perspective.
