Toy enthusiast and casual dabbler of vinyl here, I only ever really bought Kozik and Kidrobot stuff because it was all I was ever exposed to, though I will say that some of the other stuff I've seen is pretty neat. I really like the realxhead stuff and that other one where the cat has both of its arms straight out like a zombie. I forgot what it was called. I think sometimes it has a fishtail and a 3rd eye.
I feel like in order to collect vinyl toys, you have to pretty much be all-in. Like their asthetic doesn't mesh well with super segmented articulated toys. And you can't have just a few vinyl in a sea of say, Marvel Legends or something because it'll look off putting. Like having LEGO, it's a very specific look that looks great on its own, but isn't as splashable with regular toys. Am I completely off base here?
I only ask because again, vinyl/art toys have always kind of just.. been there since I started collecting. But every time I would choose the articulated toy over the non articulated one so now I have a crazy action figure collection with maybe one or two "vinyl" toys (i only put the quotation marks because they're Kidrobot stuff and based on the discussion here, those don't really count for much)
But i respect the toys and the community. Good on you gents
