I went to art school so most people were there on their parents' dime and continue to live off of it, so lots of them have helped me in the past, given me expensive gifts, etc. and I thank them but try not to get too grovely about it because I know it's not their money.
The friend that offered is the same situation. She's a very sweet girl who was just a fan of my work on the internet and reached out to me. She came to visit once and everything. She's from Dubai, I have a feeling her family has more money than anyone I know could even imagine, but at the same time, her family is very protective of her (she had a bodyguard hovering around us when I hung out with her..) and I feel like if they found out she was giving me $1000 a month, she'd get in big trouble..
Especially because it would take like four years to finish paying off. If she offered to do it all in one go, I'd probably accept, but I don't want her to have to commit to that..
