>>10375815>Must be a later release. I have a first run v. mongoliensis and it has decent enough paint. The body for my v. osmolskae looks great and I'd even say that the paint apps for the legs and hands look better than the bright yellow paint apps on the Yutyrannus, but the head for mine looks pretty bad when compared to the promotional material. The blue snout just abruptly ends and has none of the really nice fade-into-white that the art on the box or the promotional raptor has.
>The plates are bare keratin, no?The keratin sheath that the plates would have had doesn't preclude the plates from being able to blush, because of the well-vascularized bone tissue consisting of dense mineralized fibres that made up the bones of the plates. There's a 2012 paper by Shoji Hayashi et al about the Ontogenetic Histology of stegosaurus plates and spikes that concludes that
>The extensive vascular networks seen in large plates suggest their function is for display and ⁄ or thermoregulation. The thick cortical bone of spikes of old adults suggests that spikes acquire a weapon function for defence ontogenetically late.So going off that theory, I don't think Dave would have been out of bounds in giving the Stegosaurus bright red patterns or spots.
>>10375837They're 3D-printed buildings that I buy from this guy's ebay store.
https://www.instagram.com/eyepop_designs/ He mostly only does them in 1/200 and 1/450 scale for Monsterarts and X-Plus so they're better kaiju figures if you've got scale autism like I sort of do.
