>>10627172>>10627135Anon, I joke because I'm in an IPMS club and I see the kind of stuff most of the people who build "actual scale models" do. They buy kits from hobbyshows or ebay that have been passed around as part of 3 different people's backlog before them, collect a dozen tools they'll rarely if ever use, but stuff like a $25 brass gun barrel for their tank kit off ebay that looks exactly like the plastic barrel the tank came with and you won't be able to tell the difference once it's painted, get autistic with looking up the correct colors and markings and then end up spray painting it with cheap paints like krylon anyways, and then if they weather it they either slop on an oil wash or heavily drybrush it. And then they proudly bring it to the next 5 shows they go to where they enter it into an extremely specific category where it wins an award because there were only like 3 entries for that category anyways. And in a group of a couple dozen of these "actual modelers" only one or two of them are actually more than decent and actually do stuff like modding or scratchbuilding or airbrushing.
They're exactly the same as the current gunpla community with the only two exceptions being that the average age is about 30 years older and they go to more shows than gunpla builders.
