People are known to procrastinate. With a popular franchise like STar Wars, the pool of fans who want shit like this is literally tens of thousands of times larger than most kickstarters which lines of literal nobodies, where only a few (relatively) people even care to search through projects and like the design/premise enough to buy into it.
PS, i haven't put in my money either. I'll probably put it in either tomorrow or Monday, because it doesn't matter when i put it in, as long as it's before teh deadline.
