>>7256276>People have been searching for years now with no real luck.I dunno man, there are definitely viable alternatives to MSC but ultimately it comes down to personal preference.
I was a reasonably prolific faceup artist circa 2011-13 and being UK based, the only freely available sealant was the Citadel Purity Seal and I never had any issues whatsoever. I have a few dolls whose faceups are from 2013 and the finish hasn't visibly deteriorated or changed in any way. It's slightly less matte than MSC - I do prefer the finish of the latter - but it's barely discernible. I think the nicest finish of all is the ZM is my Volks dolls are anything to go by, but I've never actually used it; spraying technique and local weather conditions are a bigger factor than people realise so it's difficult to judge until you have a bit of experience. I never tried Testor's since it isn't sold here. I'm aware Andreja had success with an airbrush and liquid sealants but that does require a bit more investment/practice.
In the UK at least, Purity Seal looks to have been replaced by "Munitorum Varnish" as of this year. I haven't tried it but I've read a review claiming it's a more matte finish than the old formula which, if true, would be ideal.
