Most companies still use spray masks and tampographs, ontop of those printed stickers (face print), that also need to be placed onto the face (hand centered on a machine, hence being crooked from time to time).
look closesly at your figures. Anything that's solidly painted is either a spray mask or tampograph. anything that's a bunch of dots is the print.
Pretty much every company started doing this layered effect since 2018. Even Bandai started doing it after like 8 years of cheapassness.
