The Jem movie is a completely different demographic and the Max Steel movie actually came out after Jem.
The Jem movie was just Universal's bullshit in trying to fulfill their contract with Hasbro they made 6 years before. After the Battleship bomb, Universal put in the most minimum amount of effort into it and that's why it was only given a budget of 5 million, which is 2x less than what an episode of Game of Thrones, Sense8, or Rome cost.
I don't even think there was even a marketing campaign for Jem and if there was, it's just proof that Universal spent so little. They sent the movie out to die and just to write it off.
