I don't know why the human brain reaches this conclusion, but it does. "Muh heft" is actually something many people capitalize on. A heavier toy feels like a better toy like a heavier barstool feels like a better barstool.
Die cast in the feet, ass, and legs is great for keeping a figure planted and balanced on a table. It has practical function.
Pic related is the most egregious use of die cast in any transforming thing I've ever handled. Most everything purple is die cast, yet he has no stability problems at all and is touted by many people as one of the best 3P figs the company has ever done. You can do die cast and make a good figure.
