I rarely ever keep a box intact and usually just flatten them out, throwing away all the inserts and supports.
Two part boxes are pretty rare, and like you mentioned, gunpla has some great at (modern, not so much) that only exists only on the top end of the box. Most modern gunpla is shit though. Generic cgi trash. I miss the physical paintings they used to use.
Also, i go through my boxes of trash and cull them every year or so. It's like, do i really need doubles/triples/septuples of the same art (army building) or some very ugly art?
Going through these piles of cardboard really makes me appreciate some of the art. I miss when Hasbro was hiring great comic artists to do the art for their cardbacks and boxes. A lot of the modern stuff was generic shit that might as well be AI art, but they've recently been commissioning better artists, taking more creative takes.
