They are moving away from things that might be viewed as sexualizing a Disney princess, and are SLOWLY toning down, and removing things that make them attractive. Like giving the classic Disney Store dolls flat feet, which makes the legs look less shapely. Gone are the days of high heels in order to give them a more natural look. They've also toned down their makeup. A more recent example would be when they chose remove all of Pocahontas curves in the new wreck it Ralph film, and replaced it with a less womanly pre-teen body. Animator Glen Keane gave Pocahontas a womanly body for a reason, but modern day Disney chose to town down her sexuality. Some have even noticed that they made her skin tone whiter than it should be in order to make her more marketable in the film and as a doll.

His skin tone even looks noticeably darker in the picture they slapped on the front of the box. Hasbro did the same thing to the new Pocahontas dolls.
