>>9051522>Brian already said ultimates won't have vac metal. >Thats a dealbreaker for me, sad because I would bought the entire lineIt was initially a deal-breaker for me until anons discussed it a dozen or so threads ago, I've softened up since then.
Firstly, if we're being realistic, this will be the first and only Silverhawks toyline we will get since the original. Assuming the sculpts don't put me off, and even if I cheap out and only get Bluegrass, that's still a character I never thought I'd hear from again.
Secondly, Super7 producing them means they're going to do some deep dive shit and produce characters who never got toys. Off the top of my head, a music duel between Melodia's keytar solo and Bluegrass' guitar solo is still something I'd like on my shelf even if I don't get the full roster.
Thirdly, I'm curious to see how Metalhead comes out, first and foremost. As I recall, he's not vac metal either. For now, having been shown the modern limits of chrome coloured paint and plastic when I first talked about it in an older thread (pic related), I'm cautiously optimistic. This Colossus figure is a recent toy who looks like he'd pull off a chrome look well enough assuming he was smooth. It won't be the vac-metal of our childhoods, but if the first two waves of turtle toys have shown me anything, Super7 is doing a great job in recreating the toys I remember having as a kid.
