In the case of the Netflix War for Cybertron Trilogy the first wave that came out May 2020 practically drown the shelves that holiday season, seas of Deception Mirage, Hotlinks, Megatons, everywhere and it made a lot of fans annoyed because they wanted wave 2 (Volkswagen BB) which dropped that late fall making it tricky to find as not all Walmarts prep to order stock for that month due to how much they over order the other available waves produced. This would repeat next year as all the Kingdom Netflix figures from March would get order to hell in back that September onward to fill gaps leading to piles of Deepcovers, Sparkless zombies going on clearance at many stores that December/January. Even now most of those figures go for at cost for how much they made. Walmart also does this with Marvel Legends and other exclusives if they are a spring or summer assortment. It's the fall/winter exclusives you have to watch for.
