>>8933045Pretty much, that was my first bulk order and iirc Truth wasn't in any of the listing pics. In that same bulk lot there were a few other unique figs, including the Arbiter, Elite Pilot and white Grunt from the Phantom, Storm Elite from that weird Quad Walker, and a Marine that only came with the first Elephant. A couple of the figs are cases of heads from one fig, bodies from another.
I would agree on the collectible aspect, it's just more of a niche market that flies under the radar and could probably be cheaper if A. Mega wasn't so bad at distribution; B. there weren't assholes taking advantage of this and throwing up what should be common figs for rare prices. Would imagine that overall there's less collector demand for the older figs, cuz either you've already been in the hobby long enough to have them, or you joined after the fig style change and don't care for the originals (I know there's crossover but it seems to be rare). The other thing about Mega is there's very little in the way of a community, certainly not to the extent Lego has and this just makes it all the more difficult to find older stuff at something approaching a reasonable price. Craigslist/Kijiji/your local equivalent can be your best bet, have had a couple great scores and missed out on a couple more. There's someone in town offering their entire Halo collection on Kijiji for $2000 CAD, they have a couple sets I missed but they're not wanting to sell it piecemeal. It's not a bad price for all that's on offer but I already have most of it and would imagine finding a buyer in these uncertain economic times will be difficult.
I'm not in it as a collector, have passed on some of the earlier Halo Heroes figs that did come through my area cuz I didn't really like them and am not inclined to pay out the nose for some of the discontinued sets I missed out on. Just been fun to get some figs I otherwise wouldn't have through these bulk lots, might order another one sometime soon for kicks.
