Experiment. See what you like. I found i really like 2 things, sturdiness, and japanese engineering. My favorite figure right now is maketoys wrestle, i also like the revoltech harley quinn and all my sentai and rider figures. I like that everything but the rider figures are sturdy, and i'm still chasing down more 3p transformers that are sturdy.
Getting rid of old stuff, or putting it in storage can help too.
I hear the ko soundwaves are pretty sturdy so maybe try those.
