They kicked Lauren Faust because she wanted to have creative input on a show she pretty much built up from the ground, they kicked basically every original writer by season 6, and like that anon says, they constantly make the worst decisions for the IPs they control. Prequel show with the same aesthetic could have been incredible, but they'd still find a way to ruin it.
