There's one "new" item that was meant to be in one of those previous sets but had been subbed out in the final product: the green Tiger tank. This time around the advertised armour was correct, including the erroneous lower half that is accurate to the grey Japanese Type 3 Chi Nu also included. The reason for this error is likely mundane - the lower half was designed with a pullback play feature and it's more cost-effective to just slap onto different upper tank halves as those are what most people use to tell them apart anyway. Incidentally this has been the Hollywood approach to recreating Tiger tanks for films, notably in Kelly's Heroes and Saving Private Ryan.
Regarding the Chi Nu, it's interesting such a relatively obscure tank would be selected to reproduce in toy form; for these particular sets it turns out to be a most appropriate choice, as we'll see.
