>>8004955>what kind of resin do you use for making clear stuff, and what would you recommend it for? like besides the obvious cups and bottles and stuff.Micromark clear resin is the only clear resin I have used that I have been able to get completely clear.
I'd recommend this starter to learn how to cast:
https://www.micromark.com/RESIN-CAST-STARTER-SET The resin there is opaque, but it's good for practice. Man, I remember back in '04 when the kit was $60. Anyhow, as far as what to use clear resin for other than bottles and all, just a few things I have done: Add just a drop of green or blue dye and put an action figure in a clear tube to make a cryo-stasis/healing up pod like in STar wars and DBZ, drop of blue or yellow dye to make some liquid for a 1:12 toilet. Filling opaque or clear chinese dollhouse cups and glasses to make different drinks, Making transparent effects like fireballs, etc. All the Mamashii nations stiff "SOme figure effects you can even make molds of easily and reproduce them for your own use), stained glass windows, puddles in a diorama, et come cheap dollar store fish into the clear resin for a koi pond in a little garden diorama, make kryptonite with the appropriate colored dye, make gemstones, crystals, etc.
That's just a few ideas. I've done much more in 1:12 and 28mm scale.
>I was considering using balsa wood to make rough "furniture" that one of the characters can be sawing in half since the wood is so soft i can probably stick the toy saw halfway into the wood to look like it's halfway cut.Start practicing my getting a cheap box of popsicle sticks for cheap and a small can of wood stain. Pic related is a shelf I made for fun to ut some of my Cole's Little Shop items on and you can see a floor I made with stained sticks cut to size here:
