this might not look like much, but it's 4 days of work just for these few parts of my USS Texas, and I've barely started to get into the bulk of this kit. All I've done so far are the five 14" main turrets as well as the secondary and AA armaments. Those Oerlikons are 6-10 pieces each of photo etch and brass and I had to make over 40 of them for the Texas. By far the most tedious part of this is the 40mm bofors which are made of resin and photo etch and doesn't fit together right at all. The brass barrels don't fit in the fucking resin. It's weird, because I've built these exact same resin bofors guns before in a previous build (USS Indianapolis) but I don't remember struggling this hard to get them to fit before. Looking at it with a jewelers loupe shows that the brass is too large to fit inside the tiny resin holes, and it's nearly impossible to glue them together and it is really testing my patience.
